In just over a month, AACTE’s 74th Annual Meeting, Rethink, Reshape, Reimagine, Revolutionize: Growing the Profession Post Pandemic, will commence March 4-6, 2022, in New Orleans, LA. As conference preparations continue, know that the AACTE team remains committed to providing an enriching and engaging educational experience in an environment that promotes health and safety and follows the local COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations.
As of January 25, 2022, the city of New Orleans remains in Phase Three of their COVID-19 recovery plan. However, new regulations have been added to combat the spread of the Omicron variant. As a result, the following guidelines are currently in effect within the city:

There is still time to register at a discounted rate for the AACTE 74th Annual Meeting, being held March 4 – 6, 2022, in New Orleans, LA. Advance registration pricing will be available until Friday, January 21, at midnight. After this deadline, fees will revert to the full registration rate.
We are excited to meet in person this year in the “Big Easy” to rethink, reshape, reimagine, revolutionize, and grow our profession. Join us for concurrent sessions on trending topics and dynamic keynote speakers. We look forward to engaging in meaningful discussions, sharing research and practices, and becoming better equipped to drive change in the educator preparation field.

The AACTE 2022 Annual Meeting preconference workshops, which will take place on March 3 in New Orleans, are now open for registration. Be sure to arrive at the conference early for Holmes programming and interactive workshops that delve into complex education challenges and prepare attendees with the tools needed to grow and enhance their programs and institutions.
Preconference workshops are participatory and provide opportunities to discuss issues important to educator preparation with peers who share similar academic and research interests. Preconference events include the following:

AACTE is excited to announce nationally renowned educator, education policy scholar, and best-selling author Leslie T. Fenwick , Ph.D., as the closing keynote speaker for its 74th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. Described as a “fearless voice” for educational equity, Fenwick will take center stage on Sunday, March 6, to discuss her new book, Jim Crow’s Pink Slip: The Untold Story of Black Principal and Teacher Leadership (Harvard Education Press, 2022). The book has been referenced by the New York Times and listed as the #1 New Release in Education History by Amazon.

Excitement is building for the 74th AACTE Annual Meeting, March 4 – 6, 2022. Why? To start, this will be AACTE’s first in-person meeting in nearly two years. Once you have logged in to the Event Planner, you will be able to
- Browse the Full Schedule – Use the search field at the top to locate sessions by presenter name (first or last), title, keywords, and other fields.
- Access Session Information – See a session you might be interested in? Just click on the session title to access a description and list of presenters.
- Share Your Work with Other Attendees – Want to get other attendees interested in your session? If you are the presenter of a session, upload your slides, handouts, and other documents at any time. Just click on your session and then click the “manage handouts” button on the bottom.

Many of you have admitted to being “all zoomed out” by attending virtual meetings over the past year and half. AACTE is looking forward to seeing you in person next year for the 74th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, March 4-6. Please know that we are continually following the COVID protocols and guidelines set by the CDC, as well as the state of Louisiana. All safety measures will be put into place during the meeting to ensure safety so that you may enjoy the conference sessions, connect with friends and colleagues, and grow your professional knowledge and network.

Military personnel, airline pilot, newscaster, public relations executive, and event planning professional. What do these careers all have in common? The answer: In 2020 (prior to the start of the pandemic), these professions all ranked among the ten most stressful jobs in the world, according to an annual report. For those who plan large events, the pressure and challenges of preparing for as many possible scenarios, outcomes and situations imaginable is a daunting feat. Add a global pandemic and increased demand for previously underutilized and unfamiliar virtual technology, and that stress score only increased in 2021. However, as we begin to gather in-person again for conferences and events, how will the experience, and the planning, be different for AACTE’s 2022 Annual Meeting?
