Call for Volunteers: Apply by May 8 for AACTE Board, Standing Committees
Your association wants you! Are you ready to become a leader in the national educator preparation community, or do you know someone who is? Nominate yourself or a colleague by May 8 to serve in an AACTE governance role.
AACTE is currently seeking applications from volunteers to serve on the AACTE Board of Directors and the following standing committees:
- Global Diversity
- Government Relations and Advocacy
- Innovation and Technology
- Meetings and Professional Development
- Membership Development and Capacity Building
- Professional Preparation and Accountability
- Research and Dissemination
Eligibility
All faculty, staff, and administrators from member institutions are eligible to serve on a standing committee. Board members must be a designated Chief or Institutional Representative. Candidates for all governance seats must not have served in the same capacity over the past 3 years.
Timing and Term Commitment
Committee appointments will be approved by the Board of Directors in early fall. Board candidates will be named by October, and elections will run in November.
Those appointed or elected will serve a 3-year term beginning March 1, 2018, and will meet at least once face-to-face each year (twice for the Board of Directors). Additional meetings may be held by conference call or online forums.
