Hear from these industry leaders as they walk you through their state’s work, in collaboration with Educational Testing Service, to deploy innovative strategies to prepare their state’s candidates in educator ethics.
As gatekeepers at the entry point to the teaching and leadership workforce, educator preparation providers (EPPs) bear a critical responsibility for developing preservice candidates’ content competency, pedagogical expertise, and professional dispositions. In addition, new teachers and leaders must be equipped with an understanding of the ethical and regulatory frameworks that should inform their professional decision making.
Educators’ work is highly nuanced, involving complex relationships with students, colleagues, and other members of the school community. To prepare new educators to navigate these complexities, EPPs and their partners can develop candidates’ understanding of their domain of professional responsibility, their professional and personal boundaries, and the risks and vulnerabilities inherent in their work.
The webinar will include time for Q & A. It also will be recorded and posted in the AACTE Resource Library for future reference.
