How can you use Twitter to market and promote your work? We’ll show you during a free webinar for AACTE members, “Twitter 101 for Leaders in Educator Preparation,” a spin-off from our interactive dialogue presented at AACTE’s 67th Annual Meeting in February.
On Wednesday, May 27, at 1:00 p.m. EDT, this webinar will provide a rationale for the use of Twitter, an overview of the platform, and best practices for use by you and your educator preparation program in this AACTE webinar. You’ll gain insight on how to leverage Twitter to tell your story to candidates, alumni, policy makers, and the public at large.

About the Presenters
Jeff Carpenter, Ph.D., is assistant professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows Program at Elon University (NC). He is a teacher educator who researches, theorizes, and teaches about new and innovative modes of student and teacher learning. In particular, he is interested in ways by which collaboration, technology, and collaborative technologies facilitate the teaching and learning process; he is currently researching the Edcamp model of professional learning and how social media can enhance student learning and teacher professional development. He has presented several seminars and published multiple journal articles on how educators can use Twitter for professional learning and in the classroom. Connect with Jeff Carpenter on Twitter.
Scott Morrison, Ph.D., is assistant professor of education at Elon University (NC). He spent 11 years as a sixth-grade English and social studies teacher in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. He teaches courses on critical issues in education, social studies education, and environmental education. Michael Maher, Ph.D., is assistant dean for professional education and accreditation at North Carolina State University. He serves as treasurer of the North Carolina Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators and is an active member of the Moral Development and Education SIG of the American Educational Research Association. He also serves on various state committees in North Carolina including the State Superintendent’s Ethics Advisory Panel and the North Carolina Teacher Effectiveness Workgroup.
