NAHSA to Offer Tenure Academy at AERA

The National Association of Holmes Scholars Alumni (NAHSA) invites early-career faculty in education-related fields, particularly AACTE Holmes Scholars® starting their careers and early-career NAHSA members, to participate in a Tenure Academy this spring.

The academy will be held April 2-3 as a preconference event prior to the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The AERA conference runs April 3-7.

This event will provide participants (a) an opportunity to discuss critical issues around the tenure and promotion process with nationally recognized researchers and faculty, (b) assistance designing and implementing individualized tenure and promotion agendas, and (c) support following the academy in their own tenure and promotion process.

The deadline to register for the Tenure Academy is March 15. Registration is free for current Holmes Scholars, NAHSA members, and up to four faculty members from any institution with NAHSA membership. Other individuals may register for $125 each. For more information and to register, visit www.nahsa.com, or contact Saroja Barnes at sbarnes@aacte.org with any questions about the academy.

NAHSA, working in conjunction with AACTE, is nationally known for its development of Holmes Scholars alumni and faculty from underrepresented groups. The AACTE Holmes Scholars® Program supports the recruitment and retention of traditionally underrepresented students in doctoral programs by providing mentorship, peer support, and rich professional development opportunities.
