Register for NJACTE Annual Day of Assessment Conference Kicking Off Thursday
On Thursday, March 21, the New Jersey Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (NJACTE) will be holding our Annual Day of Assessment Conference with the theme, “The Expanding Landscape of Assessment: Important Conversations.” The conference is free to attend and accessible entirely online by our conference host, Rutgers University – Newark. A Pre-Conference Session “Introducing Praxis Preparation: Redefined” by our generous sponsor 240 Tutoring will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Concurrent presentations will begin at 1:30 p.m.: “How New Jersey Preparation Programs are Rethinking the Performance Assessment Landscape” will look at how educator preparation programs navigated the challenges and opportunities with the recent elimination of the edTPA as a mandatory assessment for teacher licensure. “Innovations in Assessment: Using Technology-Based Applications for Course and Program Improvement” will explore technology-based applications used in educational assessment for course and program improvement.
At 2:30 p.m. “Assessment Authenticity: Focus Groups for Evaluation and Design” will focus on the use of focus groups as an assessment strategy. “Helping Your Data Tell Your Story” will review the relationships between raw data, descriptive statistics, graphical representations of data, and narrative reporting.
At 3:30 p.m. “The Winding Road of EPP Accreditation: One New Jersey Institution’s Journey of Changing from CAEP to AAQEP” will share insights into their accreditation-related processes, enrollment and certification issues, and field experience evidence. “A CCI Success Story: Lessons and Reflections for the Past, Present, and Future” will focus on the implementation and use of the Clinical Competency Inventory (CCI).
The NJACTE Day of Assessment Conference is part of our overall efforts to increase member engagement, providing a valuable opportunity for faculty, staff, administrators, and students to come together and learn from each other on various aspects of assessment in educator preparation.
