Come Early and Learn More at #AACTE24 Preconferences

The AACTE Annual Meeting is a cornerstone event for educators, researchers, and education leaders alike. While the main conference offers a wealth of insights and networking opportunities, there is an often-overlooked gem that deserves special attention — Preconference opportunities. Attending AACTE Preconference activities is an excellent way to invest your time and commitment to learning during the Annual Meeting. Check out the schedule and descriptions below to see what this year’s preconference has to offer.

Preconference Schedule

2024 Diversified Teacher Workforce Preconference
Thursday, February 15
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Diversified Teacher Workforce TAG, this preconference centers on the voices of diverse educators, both practitioners and educator preparation professionals from the academy, and therefore features sessions to meet both groups’ needs. Register now.

2024 Annual Meeting Campus Tour
Thursday, February 15, 2024
12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

AACTE is hosting campus visits to Metro State University Denver, the University of Colorado Denver, Community College of Denver, and their shared Auraria Campus.

Representatives from the campuses will share their innovative stories of collaboration and partnerships between the campuses and the community. In addition, participants will tour the Ninth Street corridor and Auraria campus and learn about its rich history, devastating stories of relocation and displacement, and current resurgence and vibrancy. The tour continues with small group discussions focused on the unique work each campus is doing in educator preparation and will conclude with a reception of campus leaders and representatives. Tour participants can return to the Gaylord Rockies via provided bus transportation or explore downtown Denver for dinner and return to the conference hotel on their own. This tour is available as an optional add-on for those who have registered for the Annual Meeting. There is a 40-person limit.

Attending AACTE’s Preconference is a strategic investment in your professional growth and the advancement of education as a whole. By taking advantage of the specialized sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, you can gain a deeper understanding of key issues, build valuable connections, and stay at the forefront of educational innovation. Don’t miss out on the chance to unlock new opportunities and contribute to the ongoing dialogue that shapes the future of teaching and learning.

Preconference programs and tours, which are open to all members and nonmembers, are not included in the AACTE Annual Meeting pricing — preregistration and an additional fee are required to participate. If you have already registered for the Annual Meeting and would like to add a preconference offering, email the registration team’s Gloriatine Jones at gjones@aacte.org.
