Background
In September 2022, the U.S. Department of Education announced the launch of the refresh of the National Educational Technology Plan. The plan will provide an actionable roadmap for leveraging the power of technology to rethink education and approach student learning in new ways. The National Educational Technology Plan will incorporate new developments in education technology and share a vision for how schools and districts across the country can continue to use technology to improve equity and opportunity for all students. It will also address infrastructure needs in order for the vision to become a reality.
The plan is being developed in partnership with a consortium of expert organizations including SETDA, InnovateEDU, Learning Forward, and Project Tomorrow. Learning Forward and Project Tomorrow are leading the listening tour of both individual and group interviews that will inform the plan. Learning Forward and Project Tomorrow staff will review and confirm applicants in advance. It is a shared goal to ensure input to the National Educational Technology Plan from a diverse set of stakeholders.
For questions, please contact either Julie Evans at jevans@tomorrow.org or Melinda George at melinda.george@learningforward.org.
