AACTE’s Annual Meeting is 37 Days Away: Join the 75 Days | 75 Ways Campaign

Approaching the Annual Meeting on February 24 – 26 in Indianapolis, Indiana, AACTE invites members to participate in 75 Days | 75 Ways to advocate for education and educator preparation.

“Educators are our nation’s first responders for democracy. Our primary goal is to improve the lives of students through education,” says AACTE President and CEO Lynn M. Gangone.

Celebrate AACTE’s 75 years of leadership in advancing educator preparation by offering a quick tip on how to elevate the teaching profession.  Leading up to the Annual Meeting, AACTE continues to highlight tips daily from its members to show support for educators and educator preparation through its social media platforms and on the website.

Here are highlights from the past week:

“Focus on making a difference in someone’s life. Teaching is a job that can be rewarding every day and extremely rewarding in the long term,” says Michigan State University Distinguished Professor Emeritus and Dean Emeritus Robert Floden.

“Become active in your state ACTE affiliate to promote and support effective practices that strengthen education preparation through the work of advocacy and capacity building,” advises Saginaw Valley State University Professor and Anne Tapp, Ph.D. Tapp also serves as curriculum director at the University of Michigan AA Center for Digital Curriculum.

“Newspaper opinion articles, or op-eds, are a powerful tool for reaching policymakers and the public. Write and submit an opinion article using data and statistics to reinforce your advocacy message in support of education, educators, and students and their families,” AACTE Senior Director of Digital Marketing & Communications Katrina Norfleet suggests.
