National Office Welcomes New AACTE Staff
AACTE is happy to introduce the newest additions to its national staff: Janae Blanscet, confidential executive assistant to the president & CEO; Christine Chirichella, director of marketing & public relations; and Krislyn Mossman, senior director of operations.
Janae Blanscet has over 25 years of experience as an executive assistant. She has supported multiple executives in various for-profit and non-profit industries. She also has 12 years of insurance experience and still retains her licenses. She specializes in organization, time management, streamlining processes, as well as problem solving and implementing solutions. She holds a Bachelor’s in political science with a minor in Russian history from the University of Colorado-Denver.
Blanscet was drawn to AACTE because she would like to help make a difference, as well as promote positive changes in this world. She truly believes that the best place to create change is through education, by educating future generations not only through teaching but also showing them how to express compassion, tolerance, equity, and inclusion. Blanscet joined AACTE in October 2021.
Christine Chirichella joins AACTE as the director of marketing & public relations. She brings 25 years of marketing, communications, and editorial experience in the association and publishing worlds, including having served as communications officer of The NEA Foundation. Most recently, she worked with the Society for Marketing Professional Services in a variety of capacities, including editor of the award-winning Marketer journal, marketing manager, and sponsorship liaison. In other roles, she served as marketing manager for Bloomberg BNA (now Bloomberg Industry Group) and marketing director for the SCORE Association, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Working for SCORE sparked her entrepreneurial spirit and desire to launch a marketing consulting firm that has served association and media clients for eight years.
Chirichella is excited to return to education and was drawn to AACTE as the leading voice on educator preparation. She believes education is a key foundation of our society. She’s committed to advancing the organization’s vision, mission, and core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion; quality and impact; and inquiry and innovation. Her priorities will be aligning marketing and communications efforts to support the AACTE’s strategic plan and upcoming 75th anniversary. She joined AACTE in January 2022.
Krislyn Mossman joins AACTE as the senior director of operations with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Most of her career up to this point has been serving as an executive director of small nonprofit organizations which helped her build expertise in operations management, along with experience in strategy development, program delivery, and fundraising. Mossman also has spent time as a classroom teacher and counselor, and has experience in policy work on Capitol Hill, which ties in nicely with AACTE’s work and mission. She has a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership & management from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in family life services and child development from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Mossman looks forward to helping AACTE to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible to sustain and improve upon the high-quality programming and services provided by the Association. While her work will focus mostly in on the areas of financial management, human resources, and information and technology, she is eager to contribute in developing strategy and reimagining new ways of doing things in our rapidly changing world.
Mossman is a native Hawaiian originally from Maui, but now resides in Washington, DC. She joined the AACTE staff in October 2021.
