Registration Now Open for Washington Week and Leadership Academy
AACTE takes the health and safety of our attendees and participants at our events seriously, so we have postponed our regularly scheduled summer events to later in the year. Washington Week will now take place September 8-11 and Leadership Academy is now scheduled for October 3-7. We will take every precaution to create a safe environment while onsite. As this is an evolving situation, we will continue to monitor new developments concerning COVID-19 and will update the meeting status as needed.
Please note that due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the coronavirus, AACTE will not charge a cancellation fee if you decide to not attend an in-person event based on concerns around your health or travel. Please continue to visit aacte.org for the latest information.
WASHINGTON WEEK: September 8-11
Registration is currently open for AACTE’s Washington Week and will take place at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, and on Capitol Hill. This meeting is a set of advocacy-focused events under the theme “Your Voice Matters.”
This annual event features three key components:
- Day on the Hill, September 8-9 – Learn to advocate for the profession and lend your voice with other AACTE members in meetings with elected officials on Capitol Hill. Bring nonmember partners to Day on the Hill as well as students, faculty, and others who can speak to the importance of your work!
- Holmes Policy Institute, September 10 – Participants in the AACTE Holmes Program convene for an inside look into education policy and the work of leading national education organizations. (Open to all AACTE members–learn how your institution can get involved!)
- State Leaders Institute, September 10-11 – The heads of AACTE state chapters meet to discuss state and national policy trends, share advocacy strategies, and build their chapters’ capacity. (Open to chapter leaders/partners only)
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY: October 3-7
Registration is open for AACTE’s Leadership Academy, which is held each year for new deans, department chairs, and other academic administrators looking to advance their careers. Our experienced faculty will guide your learning and provide beneficial information and strategies around allocating resources, managing conflict, and promoting your programs and institutions.
