AACTE Wants You! Nominations Open for Standing Committees
Don’t let the current crisis distract you from connecting with colleagues and advancing your professional interests through service on an AACTE committee. Nominations are open through May 29 for positions on the following AACTE committees:
- Global Diversity
- Government Relations and Advocacy
- Innovation and Technology
- Meetings and Professional Development
- Membership Development and Capacity Building
- Professional Preparation and Accountability
- Research and Dissemination
Here’s what a few of your colleagues have to say about serving on an AACTE committee:
“The two years I have served on the Committee on Global Diversity have been professionally rewarding as I’ve been able to interact with colleagues from around the country on matters related to equity, inclusion, and globalization. Through our collective actions, including delivering a preconference each year before the Annual Meeting, we are enhancing teacher education programs’ capacity to think about and deliver programming focused on global diversity.”
Michael Putman, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
“Being a member of the Committee on Innovation and Technology has help to connect me with some of the best educational technology minds in the country while at the same time giving me a greater sense of agency within AACTE!
David Slykhuis, University of Northern Colorado
“Serving on the Committee on Research and Dissemination has allowed me to participate in setting research priorities for our organization that broadly influence the field of teacher preparation. It has also been a pleasure to recognize the outstanding work of researchers and students who contribute critical findings regarding teacher education through publication of new texts, articles, and dissertations.”
Brian Barber, Kent State University
