Register Now for AACTE 2020 Washington Week
Registration is now open for AACTE’s 2020 Washington Week. This annual event, with participation from AACTE and the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) state chapter leaders, Holmes Scholars, and AACTE members and non-members alike interested in advocating for the profession, will take place in the nation’s capital. This year’s Washington Week will be held May 31 – June 3 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, VA, and on Capitol Hill.
Activities include the following key events:
State Leaders Institute: May 31 – June 1
This event is offered to current leaders of both AACTE and ATE state chapters to engage with leaders from across the country to continue strengthening the role of the state chapter in being a voice for the profession.
Holmes Scholars Summer Policy Institute: June 1
Open to current AACTE Holmes Doctoral Scholars, this experience allows attendees to connect with leaders in education policy.
Day on the Hill: June 2 – 3
The signature component of Washington Week, Day on the Hill, provides advocacy preparation and the opportunity to engage with elected officials and their staff on Capitol Hill. The event includes a full-day orientation where attendees build skills and prepare for conducting meetings with congressional offices.
