Tour the Washington Week Venue

Last week, Deborah Koolbeck, Brandon Frost, and I went to the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel to get familiar with the venue and surrounding area where Washington Week will take place June 2-5.  Although it was raining that day, we decided to walk from the Crystal City Metro stop to the hotel—about a 10 minute walk. There is an underground walkway with numerous shops and restaurants, but we enjoyed the outdoor walk and getting acclimated to the area.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I explained to Deb and Brandon that the first level of the hotel is where the guests will check in.  On this level, there are numerous areas for people to gather and network, go to the hotel restaurant and bar, or grab a cup of coffee at the Illy coffee shop.

Attendees can pick up their badges and their meeting materials at the Reception Area located at the top of the steps on the second floor of the hotel.

From there, the meeting space is easily accessible as everything is centrally located on this level.

After our visit to the Renaissance hotel, we walked back to the Metro Station (it had stopped raining by then) and we noticed all of the restaurants that are just a few blocks from the hotel.  There are so many different cuisines and types of restaurants, truly something for everyone.

Here’s just a small list of nearby options:

Washington Week is right around the corner. If you still need to register and make your hotel reservation, make sure to do so by Friday, May 10 by visiting aacte.org.

I am excited about Washington Week and hope you are too. I look forward to seeing you there!
