Explore New Member Benefits at AACTE

As summer comes to a close, AACTE would like to introduce you to a few new (and a few updated) membership benefit offerings that can be of service to you as the 2018-19 academic year begins.

Colleges of Education: A National Portrait (2018) – This report provides a comprehensive picture of colleges of education: the work that they do, the people who do that work, and the students they serve. The report describes in detail the key trends and challenges in meeting the nation’s need for highly skilled teachers. This exclusive, members-only tool is now available for download.

AACTE Awards – The AACTE Awards Program recognizes excellence in both member institutions and individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of educator preparation.  AACTE is currently accepting nominations for the Best Practice and Professional Achievement Awards. Nominate yourself or a colleague by October 10!

AACTE National Portrait Webinar: Deep Dive on Student Diversity – The lack of racial/ethnic and gender diversity among students in educator preparation programs continues to be a serious concern in the United States. This webinar takes a closer look at AACTE’s recent report, Colleges of Education: A National Portrait, which documents U.S. enrollment demographics and what student demographics at the undergraduate and graduate levels look like related to teacher education programs. Register today for the October 18 webinar or to view a recording.

Topical Action Groups (TAGs) – TAGs are member-driven working groups that focus on a common interest or purpose within the field of educator preparation. Any individual from a member institution is welcome to apply to join an existing TAG or start a new TAG. To review a full list of AACTE’s current TAGs, including two recent additions, please visit here.

These are just a few of the many benefits AACTE members enjoy. AACTE members also have access to the Journal of Teacher Education; can present their research and stay current with news, information, and trends related to the profession at the Annual Meeting; and support the advocacy efforts conducted on behalf of the profession through the AACTE Advocacy Center.
