ACSR Executive Committee Nominations Due Oct. 12
The AACTE Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR) seeks nominations by October 12 of state chapter leaders to run in an election for the ACSR Executive Committee. The positions open for election are the West Region representative, Northeast Region representative, and ACSR chair-elect, all to take office in March 2019.
Terms and Roles
Regional representatives will serve on the Executive Committee for a 2-year term, and the chair-elect will serve for a total of 3 years – one as chair-elect, one as chair, and one as immediate past chair. The commitment to these offices includes the following:
- Participate in a monthly conference call with the ACSR Executive Committee
- Plan, lead, and/or participate in ACSR monthly regional calls
- Plan and deliver ACSR sessions at AACTE Annual Meeting and the State Leaders Institute during AACTE Washington Week
- Attend the AACTE Annual Meeting and AACTE Washington Week
- Serve as liaison to other partner organizations as needed
- Provide leadership to various ACSR committees as needed
In addition to their duties leading ACSR, the chair-elect, chair, and immediate past chair also serve on the AACTE Board of Directors.

Eligibility
Regional representatives must be a current leader in one of the region’s states. The West Region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The Northeast Region includes Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
For all positions, only current presidents or immediate past presidents of state chapters are eligible (or AACTE-appointed state liaison representatives, in states without a chapter). You may nominate yourself or anyone else who meets these requirements, regardless of your or their home state.
Once the nominations period closes, a nominating committee will determine the final slate of candidates to appear on the online ballot. Only members of ACSR will be eligible to vote in the election, which will run in mid- to late November.
