What’s Up in Washington? Find Out in Our Federal Update Webinars

It’s a common question: “What is happening in Washington, DC?”

Well, AACTE is happy to fill you in. We offer free monthly webinars to update members on the latest developments on Capitol Hill and beyond that have implications for the educator preparation profession. We even offer the same webinar twice in a row to accommodate different schedules and time zones.

This month’s webinars are scheduled for April 26 at 5:00 p.m. EDT and April 27 at 11:00 a.m. EDT (click on the links to register). If you cannot attend either one of these live presentations, you can always view the recording on the AACTE Advocacy Center’s federal page.

With the deadline looming for the appropriations continuing resolution and the chance of a government shutdown, Washington is bustling with activity this month. In this webinar, we’ll explore the outlook on the rest of this federal fiscal year, how FY18 is being crafted, and when we could see the president’s full budget request. Catch up on Every Student Succeeds Act implementation and advocacy opportunities, as well as legislation being introduced on supporting educator preparation. There is always time for Q & A at the end of the webinar.

Want to share the experience with your students? Feel free to project the webinar in a classroom – it’s a great way to engage your campus community in advocacy issues. We’d love to see any photos you snap on Twitter, too (just tag @AACTE or @Koolbeck)!
