AACTE Seeks Volunteers, Nominations for Governance Roles

Are you ready to step up your service to the national educator preparation community? Or do you know someone whose professional experience would bring value to an AACTE committee or the Board of Directors? Now is the time to nominate yourself or a colleague by May 9 to serve an important role in the governance of AACTE.

AACTE is currently seeking nominations for the AACTE Board of Directors and the following standing committees:

  • Global Diversity
  • Government Relations and Advocacy
  • Innovation and Technology
  • Meetings and Professional Development
  • Membership Development and Capacity Building
  • Professional Preparation and Accountability
  • Research and Dissemination

Eligibility
Any individual from an AACTE member institution is eligible to serve on a standing committee, but Board members must be a designated Chief or Institutional Representative. Candidates for all governance seats must not have served in the same capacity over the past 3 years.

Timing and Term Commitment
Committee appointments will be approved by the Board of Directors in early fall. Board candidates will be named by October, and elections will run in November.
Those appointed or elected will serve a 3-year term beginning March 1, 2017, and will meet at least once face-to-face each year (twice for the Board of Directors).
