Opportunities Announced for Federal Grants, Peer Review Service
The U.S. Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) this week announced its 2016 grant competitions and timelines. Plan now for these upcoming opportunities (follow the hyperlinks for details):
The Office of Higher Education Programs facilitates grant programs that promote and expand access to postsecondary education, increase college completion rates for U.S. students, and strengthen the capacity of colleges and universities:
- Student Services Grants
- TRIO Talent Search Program (apply by Feb. 5)
- Education Opportunity Centers Program (coming soon)
- Training for Federal TRIO Programs (coming in Feb.)
- Institutional Services Grants
- Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions Program (coming in Feb./March)
- Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions (coming in Feb./March)
- Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions Program (coming in Feb./March)
- Hispanic-Serving Institutions – STEM and Articulation Programs (coming in March)
The Office of International and Foreign Language Education facilitates grant programs to broaden global competencies that can help drive the nation’s economic success and competitiveness:
- Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad – Short Term/Long Term (coming soon)
- Fulbright-Hays – Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (coming soon)
- Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language Program (coming in April)
- American Overseas Research Centers (coming in May)
