In partnership with AACTE, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) invites you to attend its 2014 Fall Conference (“CAEPCon”) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC. This fall’s CAEPCon, “Excellence in Educator Preparation: Building Our Profession on Evidence,” takes place September 29–October 1, 2014. Hundreds of supporters of improving teacher quality will gather together to share innovative ideas about accreditation’s role in ensuring candidate readiness. Registration is now open at http://caepnet.org/events/caepcon/.

People who attend CAEPCon will have the opportunity to learn about excellence in educator preparation, share their best ideas for building the profession, and grow in their understanding of the CAEP accreditation process. CAEP is committed to the role it plays in ensuring all teacher candidates are classroom ready.

Session and workshop focus areas include the following:

  • CAEP Standards and Accreditation
Sessions will provide participants with comprehensive information on the CAEP standards and accreditation process. This strand is particularly targeted at those with professional responsibility for providing leadership in a provider’s accreditation process.
  • Assessment and Evidence in Educator Preparation
These sessions will highlight examples of high-quality assessments and strategies for investigating the quality of evidence and will include presentations by invited experts, faculty, and assessment coordinators.
  • Research and Capacity Building for Excellent Educator Preparation
Sessions in this strand will share research from CAEP’s capacity-building projects and from educator preparation in the field.

CAEP’s mission is to advance excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen PK-12 student learning. As always, CAEP is looking forward to partnering with AACTE on these important initiatives in the field of teacher preparation.
