Annual Meeting and New Learning Labs Earn High Marks from Attendees

The AACTE 2018 Annual Meeting drew positive reviews from attendees who completed the event survey, with more than 95% rating the conference content as “Excellent” or “Good.”  When asked what they liked most about last year’s Annual Meeting, more than 95% chose General Sessions and Deeper Dives (AACTE’s reimagined Major Forums) as their top activities. AACTE’s new Learning Lab session format was also popular among respondents, as more than 88% rated these interactive sessions as “Excellent or “Good.”

AACTE invited and encouraged Annual Meeting attendees to share specific feedback, and here’s what a few had to say about the 2018 event:

“Both [General Sessions] were very good! Nice framing of the conference and key issues in the field.”

“This was my first AACTE conference and I found everyone to be approachable. Great conversations after sessions. Loved the hosted receptions. Great way to network and continue the conversations started earlier in the day.”

“The Deeper Dive session speaking about diversity was excellent. This was the best hour I’ve spent at a conference in a long time. The session made me think, and I brought back not just strategies for my colleagues but a better respect for the differences of my students and ways to affirm their identities.”

Did you miss a session? Remember, you can watch video recordings from the 2018 Annual Meeting by visiting the AACTE Learning Center. The Opening and Closing Keynotes are available to the public, while other recordings are available only to conference registrants.

AACTE is building on the feedback from last year’s attendees and creating an experience for the 2019 Annual Meeting that will include interactive and engaging sessions emphasizing the 2019 theme of Sustaining and Advancing the Profession.

Now is the time for you to start planning for the 2019 Annual Meeting, Feb. 22-24 in Louisville, KY. Registration is open and members can take advantage of the discounted early bird rate by registering before the October 24 deadline.
