Have you seen the latest issue of Scholars Report, the monthly e-newsletter from the AACTE Holmes Scholars Council? This free publication highlights the work of Holmes Program participants as well as opportunities and resources for the community. View the full newsletter here or read on for highlights from this month’s issue.

  • Washington Week: The feature article introduces AACTE’s 2017 Washington Week and guides Holmes students in how to make the most of their time at the week’s events, including the Holmes Summer Policy Institute, where participants meet with alumni and representatives from various education and policy organizations during a full day of programming. They will then join AACTE members at Day on the Hill for advocacy training and Capitol Hill visits, for which the article offers resources and tips.
  • Council Leadership: Holmes Scholars Council President Dana Dunwoody provides greetings, pledges support, and encourages students to get involved. Lists of key contacts, committees, and conferences connect readers with relevant opportunities.
  • Member Spotlights: The State University of New York at Oswego is the newest institution joining the AACTE Holmes Program, adding three new Holmes Master’s students to the roster. The newsletter also announces the current Scholar of the Month and congratulates several scholars who are presenting at professional conferences, received awards, or authored publications.
