Book Your Hotel by May 16 for AACTE’s Washington Week

AACTE’s Washington Week this June will be based at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, located minutes away from downtown Washington, DC. Take advantage of AACTE’s special hotel rate and get complimentary high-speed Internet in guest rooms and meeting spaces when you make your hotel reservation within the AACTE room block by May 16.

The hotel offers guests complimentary shuttle service to and from the Reagan National Airport, just one mile away. Enjoy the Crystal Gateway Marriott hotel amenities, including three on-site dining options and convenient lobby access to the Metro.

The hotel will host most of the events of AACTE’s Washington Week June 5-8, ranging from advocacy opportunities to policy briefings, networking receptions, and more under the theme “Diverse Perspectives, Deep Partnerships, One Profession.”

Join AACTE members and their partners from around the country to learn about legislation shaping educator preparation and make your voice heard at Day on the Hill, June 7-8—or arrive early for our State Leaders Institute, June 5-6, or Holmes Scholars Summer Policy Institute, June 6.

The week’s early events are tailored to our special audiences of state chapter leaders and Holmes Program participants. Then our signature advocacy experience, Day on the Hill, is open to all AACTE members.

There, AACTE Government Relations staff and member leaders will catch you up on what’s happening in Washington around educator preparation. Experience how to use collaboration to augment the capacity of your advocacy efforts, and discover how to work with the press to promote your perspective. Learn how to take your experiences in Washington, DC, back home to continue to advocate on teacher preparation while maintaining key relationships with members of Congress and their staff. Ask questions, get answers, and gain a deeper understanding of what actions you can take to inform the policies that affect your work in educator preparation.

On the final day, you will board buses for Capitol Hill to unite your voice with colleagues’ and practice your new advocacy skills in meetings with elected officials.

To register for any of the Washington Week events, visit our event web page. There, you’ll also find draft agendas, speaker information, and a link to the hotel reservation site. Don’t forget to book your room by May 16!
