Fahad Named Scholar of the Month

Congratulations to May Holmes Scholar of the Month Ahmed Fahad!

Fahad is a third-year doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati (OH) in the Second Language Studies Department. His research interests are in second-language acquisition and pedagogy, critical discourse analysis, and computer-mediated communication.

Fahad recently received a $1,000 university research grant for faculty and student mentoring. He was also awarded $3,000 from a summer mentoring program through the University of Cincinnati Graduate School, and he already has had an article published. Fahad was elected vice president of the Literacy and Second Language Studies Graduate Student Association as well as the general alternate for the national Holmes Scholars Council.
