Webinar Recordings, Slides Available for Regulations Overview, Federal Update
Looking for resources on the new federal regulations for teacher preparation programs? Wondering what’s happening on Capitol Hill lately, or where you should be focusing your advocacy energy this fall? Then you’ll want to tap into AACTE’s Resource Library for recordings and slides from one of the four webinars I led this week.
On October 24 and 25, a pair of webinars offered an overview of the U.S. Department of Education’s final rule for the teacher preparation program regulations, which was released October 12. The presentation stepped through the regulatory language but not the response to comments, cost and burden analysis, and other pieces of the 695 pages of regulations. This webinar is open to the public and can be viewed here.
For additional information on the new rule, read AACTE’s press statement and the coalition statement signed by AACTE and nearly 30 other organizations opposing the regulations, and check our webpage dedicated to the regulations for updates and resources as they are produced.
Other Federal Updates
On October 26 and 27, I led Federal Update webinars providing an overview of the current appropriations process, the regulations, the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act, and the groundwork underway to reauthorize the Higher Education Act. Watch the recording and slides not only for updates on what is happening in Washington, but also for advocacy opportunities and links to related resources. This webinar is for AACTE members and can be viewed here, along with past months’ updates.
The monthly Federal Update webinars generally are offered twice, on different days and times, to accommodate as many schedules and time zones as possible. Register now for the November and December 2016 Federal Updates through AACTE’s webinar page.
