Registration Now Open for AACTE Washington Week, June 5-8

Registration is now open for AACTE’s Washington Week, a set of advocacy-focused events held annually in the nation’s capital. Under the theme “Diverse Perspectives, Deep Partnerships, One Profession,” this year’s Washington Week will be held June 5-8 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, and on Capitol Hill. Please join us to deliberate on provocative issues in the profession, experience interactive sessions with industry leaders, and showcase your work with legislators.

State Leaders Institute: June 5-6
AACTE chapter leaders will engage in lively discussions on the trends in state policies affecting educator preparation. Attendees will discover best practices for chapters to support the profession, hear how leaders from across the country are addressing challenges, and learn how to increase state chapters’ capacity and advocacy work.

Holmes Scholars Summer Policy Institute: June 6
AACTE Holmes Scholars® will gain an inside look into education policy. Attendees will learn about the connections between policy and research and explore national-level programming focused on underrepresented populations. Registration for the Holmes Scholars Summer Policy Institute includes participation in Day on the Hill.

Day on the Hill: June 7-8
AACTE member faculty, teacher candidates, and AACTE Holmes Scholars will engage in training for conducting advocacy in DC as well as at home. The following day, they will employ their new skills in the halls of Congress, meeting with elected officials and their staff to highlight important work and advocate for key policy issues.
