Assessing and Enhancing Principal Preparation: Free Webinar Nov. 12

What are the assessment and evaluation challenges related to the development of great principals? A free webinar next week will explore the assessment of progress, the benefit of standards, and outcomes that have led to change and greater focus on the preparation and professional development of school leaders in the Wallace Foundation’s Principal Pipeline Initiative.

On Thursday, November 12, the third webinar in AACTE’s series on the initiative will feature the following participants:

  • Debra Morris, Assistant Professor and Program Director of the M.S.A. Program, University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and cofacilitator, CMS/UNCC Aspiring High School Principals Program
  • Michelle D. Young, Executive Director, University Council for Educational Administration, and Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy, University of Virginia
  • Jevelyn Bonner-Reed, ‪Director, Strategic Initiatives, and Broad Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (NC)

The webinar will be moderated by Linda McKee, AACTE senior director of performance measurement and assessment policy, and introduced by Mark LaCelle-Peterson, AACTE senior vice president for policy and programs.

Panelists and participants will review challenges that have arisen as the Principal Pipeline Initiative has unfolded. The webinar will also share the assessment strategies and protocols developed in pursuit of improved teaching and learning along with lessons learned and advice to partners and providers in the preparation of principals.

We invite our colleague deans and faculty engaged in the preparation of school administrators to join us November 12 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Registration is required but free; learn more here.
