AACTE Submits Comments to OMB on Burden of Proposed Regulations

On Friday, January 2, AACTE submitted formal comments to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regarding the burden and cost estimates that were provided in the proposed federal teacher preparation regulations. The extensive 38-page analysis echoes many of the concerns raised by AACTE members and colleague organizations.

In addition to AACTE’s own feedback, we know of at least 78 other comment documents that were submitted to OMB (through our own internal tracking), including four from state educational agencies in California, Indiana, Kansas, and Massachusetts.

As AACTE gears up to submit formal comments to the U.S. Department of Education regarding the entirety of the proposed regulations, we want to express our appreciation for your efforts and attention thus far, especially during the busy holiday season.

As always, please be sure to check the AACTE regulations web page for the latest information, and feel free to contact us with any questions at regs@aacte.org.
